GREEN TEA
Bi Luo Chun is one of China’s 10 famous teas and the best green tea from Jiangsu Province.
Our Bi Luo Chun is harvested on the slopes of Dong Ting mountain by Lake Tai. This shallow lake, created by a meteor, heats up quickly to create mists that blow across adjacent slopes.
It is the combination of this drifting mist with the farmers’ tradition of interplanting fruit trees among the tea bushes that makes Bi Luo Chun so distinctive.
The small leaf tea bush is thought to absorb the fragrance from the blossom of the fruit trees, which include peach, plum, apricot, loquat and ginkgo. This influences the final tea flavour and creates the unique flower and fruit fragrance of Bi Luo Chun.
The name Green Snail Spring is a direct translation of Bi Luo Chun. Bi, meaning green, comes from the colour of the young leaves that are harvested early in spring (Chun) before the first rains. And luo, or snail, comes from the shape of the tiny, finished leaves, which are curled like a snail’s shell and remarkably fuzzy in appearance.
This rare tea is hand-rolled in a hot wok to produce subtle flavours filled with beautiful fruit and flowery aromas, which evolve with each infusion.
Bi Luo Chun is a traditional Chinese green tea with more than 1,000 years of history.
