Here at Scottish Tea House we are not fans of excessive data collection.  However, in order to run our online shop we do need to collect some data from you sometimes.  We are committed to treating your personal data (e.g. your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, billing and delivery address) with total respect and in the strictest confidence. We will always only use the information we collect about you carefully, lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

You can visit and browse our site anonymously.  However, we need to collect information from you when you register on our site or place an order.  When ordering or registering you will be asked to enter your name, e-mail address, postal address and phone number.  We need to maintain a record of the password for your account. We keep a record of the delivery address for your orders.  We also keep details of your product selections. If you sign-up to receive our email newsletters we only hold your name and email address.

 

We keep a record of any email correspondence that we have with you.

 

We also collate statistics about the website traffic, sales and other commercial information which we use to improve our service to you; however, this information is collected on an anonymous basis.

 

What do we use your information for?

 

Any personal data which is collected during the purchasing process is only used by us and our carefully selected service provider companies to ensure that we can take, process, deliver your order and maintain your account to the highest standard possible. If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email. You can simply follow the unsubscribe link.  You can also email us with unsubscribe in the subject field.  If you have registered with us you can log in to your account and un-check the newsletter checkbox in your account settings.

Do we use cookies?

Phishing is the practice of tricking someone into surrendering private information for the purposes of identity theft.

 

In order to protect you against phishing we will never ask you to send or confirm personal information by email. If we need any information of this nature we will only contact you by phone, and will take appropriate steps to confirm your identity.

 

If you receive an e-mail claiming to be from Scottish Tea House requesting this type of information, please DO NOT RESPOND, contact us immediately and forward us a copy of the email.
